    45 years of fermentation history arrived in excellent condition and was active within 24 hours of its first feed. The rye base gives real depth and complexity that younger starters can't replicate. Organic certification, well-packaged, clearly well-tended. If you're serious about sourdough, this is where to start.

    Fantastic starter have tried my own, others but always come back to this one. I have an old German recipe for a rye sourdough bread with Caraway. My Austrian mother in law says it’s one of the best breads she’s tasted. Highly recommended

    This was my first attempt to make sourdough and I have been making bread and rolls on a daily basis. It tastes amazing and the starter is really easy to keep alive.
