Product description
size 10g
Kefir is a fermented milk drink similar to a thin yogurt that is made from kefir grains, a specific type of mesophilic symbiotic culture. The drink originated in the North Caucasus, in particular the Elbrus environs along the upper mountainous regions of Karachay and Balkaria from where it came to Russia, and from there it spread to Europe and the United States, where it is prepared by inoculating the milk of cows, goats, or sheep with kefir grains. Traditional kefir is fermented at ambient temperatures, generally overnight. Fermentation of the lactose yields a sour, carbonated drink with taste similar to drinkable yogurt.
Our grains are Certified by OF&G Organic Farmers and Growers. We offer 10g of grains to make your own kefir. Instruction is included in the pack.

Milk Kefir Grains
Very pleased with these grains. Used organic milk and the grain yield multiplied very quickly. So far I've made blueberry and strawberry batches and the next one will be ginger. I add a few nuts and oats for a nutritious breakfast starter for the day. Highly recommended 5*

Great Product!
I purchased the milk kefir grains at the end of March 2024, and received them through Royal Mail after the Easter holidays - the grains were stuck in the post during the holidays. When they arrived, they looked a bit slimy (probably growing constantly in its medium), and there was a generous teaspoon of them. Anyway the tiny plastic bag was very well sealed. So I tried to 'give them a rinse' with fresh milk, then 'nurtured' them some more in about a cup of milk overnight. When I poured away that first cup of milk the next morning, the grains seemed bigger and cauliflower-y, and surely in very good shape. The milk has also thickened slightly so that proves that things are working out great. Now I am adding all these grains (I know it is probably a little too much at this point) into about 1L of milk, ready to enjoy them in another 12-24 hours. Thank you Kombuchaorganic. I think you did a great job with MY grains :)

The best milk kefir grains
I love these milk kefir grains! It took 10 days from UK to US, the grains were very healthy, and it made the best kefir. I have had grains from two different sources before and these grains are way better. Thank you for providing such good milk kefir grains.

Quality Kefir
I bought this milk kefir after having perceived problems with some grains from a different supplier. This was my first attempt at making milk kefir and I was wondering if I had ruined my original grains having got a cheese taste from them. I bought from Kombuchaorganic having bought some water kefir previously. TBH I was disappointed with the amount of grains I received compared with the other suppliers, put they were so much more viable and are reproducing quickly . My mistake seemed to be leaving it too long in a too warm environment, both strains are producing now. Thanks.

Milk kefir grains
I have tried a few different milk kefir grains and these were by far the best. They came in milk and settled in really well. They make kefir slightly slower which gives it a wonderful smooth texture and not too yeasty.
